Relevance. Despite the absence of physical contact, chess is associated with significant physiological and psychoemotional overloads leading to chronic health disorders, forming the problem of "cumulative trauma". Methods. The study conducted an analytical review of domestic and foreign research on morbidity in chess, as well as a cause-and-effect analysis using the Ishikawa diagram method to systematize risk factors. Results. It was established that the key causes of chronic overload are prolonged static posture, high levels of cognitive and emotional stress, hypodynamia, non-ergonomic conditions, and insufficient physical training. Conclusion. A set of preventive measures was developed, including optimization of ergonomics, implementation of physical activity, psychoregulation, and medical monitoring, which can reduce the risk of disorders by 30-40% and increase chess players’ resistance to stress.
