The algorithm for evaluating kinematic characteristics of basic body movements in aesthetic group gymnastics

Abstract (English):
Relevance. With increasing demands for performance in aesthetic gymnastics, it is necessary to introduce innovative technologies for objectively assessing and correcting the kinematic characteristics of basic body movements in real-time. Goal. To develop and test an algorithm for assessing the kinematic characteristics of fundamental body movements using our software and hardware system, «Choreographer’s Tool», in order to enhance the technical skills of gymnasts. Methods. Pedagogical supervision, modeling, design, and kinematic analysis using remote automated operational control technology based on various types of measuring sensors, such as gyroscopes, accelerometers, and magnetometers. Results. Based on the developed technology of remote automated operational monitoring in real time in a three-axis coordinate system, an algorithm was created for evaluating the kinematic characteristics of basic body movements of varying complexity. The use of this algorithm allowed us to stabilize the performance of gymnasts’ movements in accordance with the requirements of the International Federation of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (IFAGG). The algorithm has been successfully tested in the training process of the team «Aimant». Conclusion. The implemented algorithm provides a new level of assessment and correction for technical elements, which contributes to improving the effectiveness of training, competitition, and educational activities in aesthetic gymnastics.
