<abstract xml:lang="ru">

Relevance. Despite the lack of physical activity, chess is associated with significant physiological and psychoemotional stress, which can cause chronic health problems and contribute to the phenomenon of "cumulative trauma". The aim of the study is to investigate the mechanisms of chronic overloading and risk factors for disease in chess players, with a focus on possible preventive measures.
Methods. An analytical review of domestic and foreign studies on chess-related morbidity has been conducted. Additionally, a causal analysis of chronic functional disorder occurrence in chess players has been performed using the Ishikawa diagram to systematize risk factors.
Results. It was found that the main causes of chronic overload are prolonged static postures, high levels of cognitive and emotional stress, lack of exercise, non-ergonomic conditions, and inadequate physical training.
Conclusion. A set of preventive measures has been developed, including optimization of ergonomics, implementation of physical activity, psychological regulation, and medical monitoring. These measures can reduce the risk of disorder by 30-40% and increase the resistance of chess players to stress.
